MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365 FINANCE & SUPPLY CHAIN ERP FAQS

Who is Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management designed for?

This solution is tailored for mid-sized to large enterprises that require robust, scalable tools to manage complex financial and operational processes. It’s ideal for organizations with multiple business entities, global operations, or high-volume supply chain requirements.

How many users are required to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management?

A minimum of 20 users is required when deploying both Finance and Supply Chain Management together.

How is Dynamics 365 Licensed?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 uses a modular, user-based licensing model, allowing organizations to license applications and users according to their business needs.

The Base License is the primary business application license purchased at the standard rate for each full user.

  • Every user must have at least one Base License before any additional (Attach) licenses can be assigned.
  • It provides full access and entitlements to core business application features, including system capacity.
  • Examples of Base Licenses include Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management.

The Attach License is a cost-effective add-on available to users who already hold a Base License.

  • This option is ideal for users who need access to multiple Dynamics 365 applications.
  • It delivers the same functionality as its Base counterpart for an additional application.
  • For example, a user licensed for Finance (Base) can add Supply Chain Management (Attach) at a reduced rate.

Team Member and Activity Licenses are lower-cost licenses for users who need limited access to view data, enter time, or perform specific tasks.

The Device License allows multiple users to share access to Dynamics 365 applications from a single physical device.

  • Ideal for manufacturing floors, warehouses, retail environments, or front-line operations where multiple employees use the same workstation or terminal.
  • Each Device License is assigned to a specific device, not a user.

The Premium License offers advanced functionality beyond standard ERP capabilities, designed for specialized business processes.
